Extruder/Hot end keeps pressing into heat bed?

Hey Guys, I'm new to the whole 3D printing environment and just got the MK2s, and after having the package for a few days I finally pulled an all nighter and built it! Finally got it done and it looks leveled and even with no start up problems. But when it comes to doing a xyz calibration it says probe failed/ clogged extruder after checking like the 3rd calibration point (it pressed down on the bed hard when it gave the error ) i have also moved the Pinda Probe lower but no changes. Same thing happened when I tried to do a test print from the SD card.. it looked like it was gonna work then it drove the extruder into the bed after it checked two calibration locations. I now have a hole in my new print bed and just hope its something simple that I messed up from the lack of sleep and was hoping if someone here could give me some insight.

Re: Extruder/Hot end keeps pressing into heat bed?

This should not be posted under IMPROVMENTS, but under Calibration/First prints.

General getting started hints can be found here:

http://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/prusa-i3-kit-building-calibrating-first-print-main-f6/-before-you-ask-troubleshooting-video-updated--t472.html#p39190

Please read, and try these steps.

You should NEVER try to print something until you have a good XYZ Calibration and a good Live Z adjustment. Doing so WILL cause you to damage the bed (or more likely just the PEI sheet).

My advice is to carefully set the height of the PINDA sensor while doing the above steps.

Let us know if you have more issues, and we will try to help, but you will need to be more descriptive on what you are doing.

My experience is that all-night-ers usually result in many-day-ers and frustrations, and occasionally machine damage (or serious cuts/burns). I had one incident with a table saw, and I can now only count to 9 7/8th.

Any advices given are offered in good faith. It is your responsibility to ensure that by following my advice you do not suffer or cause injury, damage or loss. If you solve your problem, please post the solution…

Just wanted to say thanks ! I took a step back and looked over everything and it ended up being something simple like I thought. It was the probe. I had it set to high up and the printer wasn't registering the bed until the hot end was already pressing down. smh and sorry i thought when i posted it that it was gonna be just a general thread. (like I said, I'm new to the community ((and forums)) so i dont really get it. But you've already helped me out more than enough by linking that other thread of yours. it was perfect. I already did my z adjustment and just started printing out my first benchy as a test print. But yeah idk if this post gets deleted sine youve already help or if i can delete it. But yeah Thank you!
