Extruder Has Stopped Working

My extruder is no longer turning. Just prior to it stopping all together I was getting weird thin lines then it started clicking. Now nothing coming out of it. What do I do?

Rebooting everything seemed to clear this up.

I am using Octoprint and apparently it does not play well with the LCD Smart Controller. If you use the LCD to do something like level the bed it is best to then home the machine and turn it off so it resets. I also disconnect Octoprint and reboot it.

Interesting and I guess possible. If you ever replicate this situation, please let me know the exact sequence of the the operations you did, O si can try it out here 🙂 We run 50% of the printers in our office from modded octoprint and custom arm server, so any info is helpfull!

I've also noticed that using the LCD controls with Octoprint can cause problems. In particular, moving the motors too quickly during calibration, even with them disabled, can cause the LCD to show garbled characters.

Re: Extruder Has Stopped Working

Hi, this sometimes happen. It is because the lcd is using parallel interface and cables can catch some interference from the mains or static from your hands etc. SD card is using SPI with error correction so it won't interrupt the print process at all, there is an easy fix, just push the button to get to the menu and once more to get to the info screen 🙂
