Endstops Wiring error Z

My Prusa i3 is almost a month old. I have printed maybe a dozen PLA models/parts and all was fine.
Recently I have been unable to print. It all comes to a stop when the Selftest reports “Endstops Wiring error Z”
I have double checked the wiring into the Rambo board, looked for pitched cables, light factory reset , Factory Reset, searched the Forums, Knowledge Base, and updated the firmware (3.0.10)

I have repeated the same procedure two days in a row with the same results:
1. (cold machine) Self test - Passed
2. Calibrate XYZ - Passed
3. Loaded filament (unless it was already loaded)
4. Calibration test with V2Calibration “Bed leveling failed. Sensor disconnected or cable broken…”
5.Selftest - failed
Thought it might be heat related because everything seems fine at the start before heating and then failed when all was heated. After letting it cool down for a few hours it still fails the Self test.

Any thoughts? Is it a bad PINDA?

Re: Endstops Wiring error Z

Raise the extruder.

On the menu, go to calibration/end stops.

Look at top of probe, make sure the red LED is lit.

Put a metal object close to the probe. The LED should go out. At the same time, on the LCD, the Z end stop value should change.

If any of the above fails, you have a faulty probe or cable.

Endstops Wiring error Z
💡 simply means that the rambo board couldn't find the pinda probe.
➡ reasons may be different: shortcut inside the cable, ripped off or broken cable, defective probe, loose connector at the rambo board (or connector plugged in in the wrong direction)....

if it worked previously, it's most likely that the cable is broken due to the continious movement during printing (one of the reasons for the MK2S modifications).

dem inscheniör is' nix zu schwör...

Thanks for the help. It seems to be a bad probe. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't

Archie

Contact support via "Live Chat" and give them a link to this thread. They may be able to send you a replacement.

You may also want to print the MK2S parts (particularly the extruder mount with improved cable support).
