"Distance between the tip of nozzle and the bed surface has not be set"
Hello,
I've had my printer for a few months now and it has given me a few issues recently. The other day one of the fuses blew. I replaced the fuse but every time I try to use the printer a message pops up on the display:
"Distance between tip of the nozzle and the bed surface has not be set yet. Please follow the manual, chapter first steps, section first layer calibration."
I have redone the XYZ calibration, calibrate Z. and mesh bed leveling. When I try to heat the extruder in order to print the V2calibration code this message prevents the printer from heating up.
I tried resetting the printer but this did not resolve the issue. Also, every time exit this message, the printer loses recognition of my SD card.
Does anyone know how I can get around this message so that I can use the printer again?
Thank you.
Re: "Distance between the tip of nozzle and the bed surface has not be set"
This warning message is just a warning that your Live Z has not been set yet (the XYZ Calibration zero's it).
The only way to remove that error message is to run a GCODE through the system that issues a G87 command which clears the warning.
The V2 Calibration files has that command, so the printer is nagging you to run the V2 Calibration code.
Similarly, the file "calibration_surface_PLA_75x75@200um_v4.gcode" which you can find on step 6 here:

also has this G87 command, to stop the nagging.
This nagging message should NOT prevent the printer from heating, nor should it affect the recognition of your SD card. The cause of those are something different.
What firmware version are you using?

I've tried several times to get rid of the message using the G87 code without success.
I am on firmware version 3.0.12

Re: "Distance between the tip of nozzle and the bed surface has not be set"
I have set the Z live value but I cant complete the steps after that. I cant load filament into the extruder because the extruder will not heat up.
I just looked at the wiring at the extruder and one of the nozzle thermistor wires had snapped. I disconnected the wire from the Rambo and the error message has stopped popping up when I tried to preheat the printer. I will try picking up a new thermistor and see if that solves the problem.
I there a recommended seller in the US so I can avoid some of the shipping costs?
