Copper vs brass

How does the durability of a nickel plated copper nozzle compare to plain brass? Particularly with abrasive filaments like carbon fill. Thanks.

Re: Copper vs brass

For me, seems to last about the same length of time when printing PLA.

I thought the copper plated ones worked slightly better (especially with the MMU) but that may be simply because they cost a lot more.

Reverted back to brass now.

Thanks, that’s pretty much what I expected. By your criterion, my ruby should be fantastic. 😀

My only concern (and reason why I haven't invested in the ruby) is simply "foreign object" blockages. My environment is very dusty and that dust ends up in my nozzles, clogging them. It's simpler, quicker and more reliable to swap out nozzles when this happens.

Good point. If I ever get myself up and running again, I’ll look into filament cleaner attachments.
