Copper paste to ease nozzle changes?

I have been reading about the problems some people had when trying to change the nozzle.

On car engines a copper paste is used on the screws that hold the extremely hot exhaust manifold to the block, to prevent seizing and allow easy removal of the screws.

That made me think if it would not make sense to use that copper paste also on the thread of the 3D printer nozzle to make dismounting easier.

What do you think?

That is what I do. But you have to remember to catch the contaminated waste filament when you first extrude filament after the nozzle change. Or you will contaminate the build plate.

Thanks Joan!

It's clear that it's critical to use very little of the paste, but good point about avoiding build plate contamination!

Cheers!

Absolutely agree. Heat and dissimilar metals is a problem looking for a place to happen. I have used Loctite 8008 on my nozzle and on both ends of the heat break without any problems and have had no disassembly troubles.

the usage of copper-paste has already been recommended several times here at the forum.
it is mentioned inside tom sanladerers video about nozzles and nozzle-changing as well.
