@devilhunter & wirlybird:
at which resolution (with which perimeter & infill settings) did you both tried the benchy ?

I did it at defaults for Z-hop, .2 and PLA settings in SLic3r PE. It was just a test after the calibration of the extruder. The overall print was fine. I am just nit picking it a bit!!

Re: CAlibrate Extruder E-Steps?

So the calibration gcode still works in the latest firmware? I had to order a new extruder pulley and this one is 1mm more in the teeth. I know I will need to recalibrate. I keep reading different remarks if the code still works and saves the new information. Currently have a print running so cant test it just yet.

Anyone else try putting a 7mm hobbed diameter? What settings did you have to change?

if the 7mm hobbed pulley fits and the filament is transported without any problems into the ptfe tube, then just calibrate the extruder as described here in this thread.

by the way: from where have you got that 7mm pulley ?

Stainless steel and higher quality. Got size specs from Prusa support. Able to order these from amazon with same day shipping to replace the faulty one I got with shipment.

The MK8 pulley is not going to fit. If you even read the comments on the one that was linked to you will see there are at least 2 people that have tried this one with the MK2 and it is too big.

Re: CAlibrate Extruder E-Steps?

Good thread... anyone else having issues with the M500 command, still on 3.0.10?

When I perform my extruder calibration, I enter the command
M92 X100.0 Y100.0 Z400.0 E174.19
M500

And it appears to be accepted, but when I reboot the MK2, and issue a M503 command, I get
M92 X100.0 Y100.0 Z400.0 E0.0

and as you might expect, it doesn't extrude at all when attempting a print. I've gotten around it by putting a
M92 X100.0 Y100.0 Z400.0 E174.19

in Octoprint as a "Before print job starts" GCODE script, but that's a kludge. Anyone else see this?

When I did it I did the 500 then 501 then 503 one after the other. Worked fine.

Re: CAlibrate Extruder E-Steps?

Good thread... anyone else having issues with the M500 command, still on 3.0.10? ...
i had it twice @ 3.0.10-release that after the PID tuning, the printer didn't respond correct to the M500 command. in fact the printer didn't react properly on the serial connection at all then (even so that the connection still was established)... always got an "ok" back, but nothing else.

i needed to reconnect the printer (which caused a reset then) and afterwards the printer responded as expected to the M500 command and acknowledget it with "Settings Stored".

the 4 days old 3.0.10-11 doesn't seem to show this problem.

Re: CAlibrate Extruder E-Steps?

no.
your printer should now print the objects with extrusion multiplier 1.00 as they were sliced and intended to appear.

This doesn't work on every PLA. White PLA being the most serious offender.

I've calibrated my E-Steps on the stock Prusa MK2 Extruder, and now on the upgraded Titan Extruder again and again, also did the 2 Shell wall thickness correction. (which is about 0.98 EM)

While black PLA prints beautifully with absolutely no flaws, it's impossible for me to get a smooth wall with white PLA.

See here: http://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/prusa-i3-kit-building-calibrating-first-print-main-f6/help-getting-rid-of-z-banding-visible-horizontal-l-t4069.html

The only thing that i can do is drop the Extrusion multiplier way down to 0.8 or 0.85 (20% less material) go get smooth and shiny wall. At the cost of gaps in the top layer.
Over the weekend i've printed about 20 white Benchys with various settings in the Advanced Tab and the Filament Tab in Slic3r, only a combination of 0.8x with 0.6x top infill works.

I've tried various white PLAs, from brand manufacturers like Hatchbox, Das Filament or Verbatim. Current Filament thickness is on average 1.76mm

I don't get whats causing this whit white filament

dang man, My prints are coming out the exact same way! both with and without the titan extruder. ive tried the newest 3.0.11 RC1 firmware as well as the 3.0.10 that shipped with my MK2S with no luck :/
