Bronzefill

Has anyone had any success using colorfabb's bronzefill filament?
I'm using the default settings with the 1.75mm version of the kit. The filament seems to clog every time after about 5-10 minutes of printing. I can usually fix the clog my pushing the filament with a narrow screw driver, but once I try again I get the clogging again.

A couple of things:

Are you using a steel nozzle? You may also need to use a 0.5mm one.

From what I have read, Bronzefill should be fine with the standard Prusa original, but you may need to experiment with different speeds and temperatures.

Initially, I think I would increase the temp to 210/215 and slow down the printing speed to a maximum of 30mm/sec.

It is tested and I find it printing pretty easy. Is your extruder cooling fan working?

The fan is working fine, but I'm not using a steel nozzle. I'm using the 0.4mm one that came with the kit. I'll try slowing down the print speed and see if that helps. If not I'll upgrade the nozzle to the harden steel one.

Thanks

Just a couple more thoughts.

There are 2 other things that can cause clogging. The PTFE Tubing and the nozzle.

I have found it quite ineffective to clean a nozzle once it has clogged; I simply throw away and replace. The PTFE tube may have softened (depending on temperatures used previously) and may need replacing. These are things you need to plan for and have spares in you cupboard, along with a few bearings etc.

Re: Bronzefill

Thanks for all your help, I lower the speed slightly and it worked perfectly fine on a two hour print.
