Bed leveling fails every other print or so

Hello all,

First off, my printer prints awesome. I have the MK2S kit, I received it 5/8/17 here in the US. I have had it less than a week and I have already printed over 70 hours worth of stuff.

One issue I do see is the bed leveling at the start of the print fails every couple of prints. It fails at point 9, asks if there is debris on the nozzle, then I have to power it off then back on to reset it. I have only seen it do it twice in a row once. Most of the time one reset is enough to get back to printing. ?Should I run one of the calibrations again to solve this or something? Anything I should check on the printer? I have ran calibration twice for good measure and everything checks out. Thanks in advance, Chris.

Sometimes the z axis gets screwed. Try recalibration of just the z axis in the menu.

What is your live z at@ if it's over -500 or so you may want to adjust pinda probe and redo full calibration.

Hello all,

One issue I do see is the bed leveling at the start of the print fails every couple of prints. It fails at point 9, asks if there is debris on the nozzle, then I have to power it off then back on to reset it

This started happening to me as well on point 4 but after a reset it works fine so far. It may have been debris on the nozzle since I print with a filament that tends to ooze out of the nozzle on its own.

One thing I have to wonder though is why do we need to reset the printer to continue. For the few seconds before the printer restarts the hotend fan is off and it's probably not a good thing. It also cause Octoprint to lose the connection to the printer. So, is there a reason to reset the printer when the auto-leveling fails?

Thanks for the info. I did find that my gantry was about a 1/8" lower on the right side than on the left. I snugged that up and corrected it. My Z offset was at -.5 I was able to adjust it down to -0.35, even though I gouged my build surface in the process. 🙄 I will run this way for a while and see if it keeps happening. Thanks again for the advice.
