Maybe you can glue something to it just so that it triggers the end stop? Then you can print a new part and replace it.

Perhaps the supports came off while your part was being printed?

Have you installed it the wrong way round? The two side is different in the model....

hmmm... looks like the part is ok, but that there are two issues with your assembly, while the first avoids triggering the end-switch:

1st: cut off the remainder of the belt, it interferes with the teeth of the pulleye when it's close to the motor and should trigger the switch.... so the little overhang of the belt prevents the whole y-carriage to reach it's end position (as you can see at your 2nd picture).

2nd: make sure that the belt sits at the bottom of the furrow. this didn't cause your actual problem with the end switch, but it might cause some problems with your alignment (belt tension, belt direction) after several hours of printing.

I'm having the same issue on an MK2S kit that I received yesterday. The side of the holder that faces the motor and end_stop is open but the other side is not. The image of the part in the instructions shows both sides closed. My part is oriented according to the instructions at step 24 in Chapter 2 where a note is made to "Be aware of the orientation of the Y-Belt holder ... should face towards the single bearing". In the video at Step 37 holder faces towards the two bearings and not the single bearing.

I also have a badly printed belt holder in my MK2 kit. My belt holder is like the one pictured above, where it looks like tear out of the screw area, it is not enclosed, consequently upon reaching Step 44, endstop check, I cannot get a positive click from the endstop switch.

Please need advice since It appears I am stuck at finishing my kit at this time. 😥 😥

I received my kit this past week to the USA, so maybe there is a print quality issue going on this batch?

Looks like you have the new mk2s part.

It looks like the 'flat' is on the other end and needs flipped around.

I tried flipping the belt holder to have a solid face on the endstop side but that side of the belt holder was not long enough to reach the endstop.

Very odd? Just printed the part and had a play with it on a stripped down mk1 I have awaiting an upgrade kit. It looks like it'll work perfectly with a microswitch that has the bar attached, The one out the mini rambo kit seemed to work at any rate.

I downloaded an older version of the belt holder from the MK2 STL files and it matches the one from the instructions. Ironically I'm printing it on an XYZ Da Vinci Jr that I bought for $100 while waiting for my MK2 kit to arrive. It's PLA but I printed it solid and hopefully it will work to get me through the build.

Same problem, same shape.

It seems to me, that this error is also responsible that the bed doesn't go far enough back for the pinda to detects its point. I used Hotmelt glue and a greasy piece of plastic to close it around the bolt. It results in the probe reaching the calibration point. This part needs to be looked at.

Thanks for your reply. I was able to make the end switch trigger by moving the motor more to the center and changing the belt position in the belt holder. Of course, then I had to move the idler in the same way as the motor. Now it triggers, but it's not yet optimal. I guess this will be the first print I will do on my MK2S.

I also contact the Prusa support and they admitted this part needs to be reviewed and improved. Maybe this is an option for some of you: Let the part print yourself through the site of 3Dhubs.com and replace the one you received with the kit.

I used Hot meld glue. And an oiled/greasy creditcard/pvc card

It works perfect and you don't have to wait. you can print the correct part yourself.

It seems almost like Spam but I finally got the picture transferred to my computer. This part was really annoying.
