Re: Anyone buy the MK upgrade?

Do you think I can use this kit on a prusa steel?

Unless you are very skilled, it will be very hard to port it :-/

What do you think couldn't work?
The bed should be plug and play, right?
The motors should also be easy.

It won't be so easy. Main concern is new HeatBed. it's 250x210. this won't fit to P3Steel frame as all P3 versions are 240mm.

Anyway I'm redesigning 2.5 frame to make it possible...

Re: Anyone buy the MK upgrade?

Th bed needs to be bolted on 6 points, which means there is no adjustment. So you need to use the mesh bed levelling and so on ... anyways, we support the upgrade kits only when they are applied to Original Prusa i3 1.75mm printers

That's no doubt it's unsupported. I also would like to release P3steel upgrade a bit later. Once demand for MK2 will be a bit lower.

My draft design is aware of 6 points 🙂 :

Btw great progress on MK2, and definitively recommend to buy original I3 kit. I already own previous model and it's great!

Re: Anyone buy the MK upgrade?

I ordered mine on the 15th. I love the new heat bed no more ABS juice or Kapton tape. I print mostly ABS. The self-leveling is not that big a deal for me because I have done it so many times it's second nature for me. I did it all the time on my XYZ with auto level that never worked as good as the old fashion way. And it only had 3 screws. I use a metal feeler gauge and I get great prints every time unless it comes unstuck from the bed. I know a lot people freak out over the Z wobble but, it makes no difference in print quality. The only problem I had was the way the Z axis was coupled it would slip sometimes. So I use another feeler gauge to check that when bed leveling.
