Adjust Z a bit down.
What do you use for cleaning the bed?

Some window cleaners cause the filament doesn't stick to bed. Try clean IPA for a few prints.

Each time I run the X/Y calibration I get the "X/Y Skewed severely. Skew will be corrected automatically"

Jakob, the x/y skew shouldn't affect the adhesion of the 1st layer, because FW 3.0.6rc2 automatically corrects the distortion as your message states.

I have had the same layer bubbles from time to time, and typically what helps is:

1. I raise my Z-height 0.025-050mm.
2. Increase the flow rate on the lcd Menu -> Settings -> Tune -> Flow. I would raise it 10-15%. After the 1st layer is finished drop it back down to 100%. Alternatively in your slicer settings you can just increase the 1st layer height or flow in your slicer settings as well. I like to do it on the machine directly because I can instantly see if increasing the flow helps or not, instead of wasting a whole print.
3. Use the glue stick.

Remember to make 1 adjustment at a time to see which one worked lol.

Good luck!

Jakob,

we are filling up a knowledge base. Your question on the XY calibration "axes severly skewed" shall be answered here:
