after mk2s upgrade small x shifting

I feel like I have tried everything trying to fix micro x shifting that started happening after I upgraded from mk2 to mk2s ( shifting occurs over all z but a little more so at high z). Not sure if it matters but I have been upgrading since the original Prusa i3. Things Ive tried to no avail:

1) changed from silent to high power mode
2) Added some bearing grease to all axis rods
3) loosen and tightened x belt
4) replaced x belt
4) Tightened all motor grub screws
5) Checked and tightened all screws i could access

Any tips, of course this happened right after I got a big order of parts needing to print.....

Oh that is a missile btw not what u r thinking....

That could be temperature fluctuations. Have you tried the PID calibration on the extruder?

Any advices given are offered in good faith. It is your responsibility to ensure that by following my advice you do not suffer or cause injury, damage or loss. If you solve your problem, please post the solution…

Tried the PID calibration, it definitely improved quality but did not fix the shifting I am seeing. The shifts are very repeatable at the same zheight and I also noticed they change where in z when I sliced it with Cura so wondering if it is a setting between the 2 slicers, slic3r significantly better than cura for the shifts

Yeah, first thing to check would be slicer. Then ensure all hardware is spec, rod span, rod parallel, bearing glide, steppers reasonable temperature during operation, wires are secure and devoid of damage. Can't think of anything else that might cause this exact error. One very unfortunate error could be firmware bed compensation going weird after a designated rounding error point and snapping into the wrong stepper "groove" at a said height that just happens to trip the rounding error but that is a long shot. Meaning, you must get the bed as flat as possible in all axis so little to no software bed level compensation is needed. Again, that is bordering on witchcraft so there is one theory from left field, if at whits end, you can try that.

FYI, bearing span feelers are below.
X-rod tween feeler gauge, 37mm
Y-rod tween feeler gauge, 162mm
Z-rod tween feeler gauge, 356mm
