ABS prints not doing well as they get higher

First my pla prints came out great! Also my Prusa lettering in ABS came at good too, but then I went to print something taller and it seems to mess up. I have tried temperatures from 210-255 with all the same result.

PLA prints

ABS prints

Any suggestions? Also, how tight should the extruder screws be? The ones with coils? Thanks.

That's overheating. You can adjust the cooling in Slic3rs filament tab. Unfortunately, when you start to cool the abs more, those little pins will look as well as with PLA, but would be extremely brittle :-/

Best solution for ABS is to print multiples of the object, so layers have time to coool down 💡

I will try again with the parts further apart, up until it messed up it does look like the best abs print so far

on such prints I reduce speed for the top part down to 50 - 20%
