ABS First Print Help
Hi
I today tried to print my first item from ABS using Prusa easy ABS. I tried at 255 hottend, 100 bed and also 255 hottend, 105 bed but every time it prints it looks like my z height is way to high and the filament doesn't adhere to the bed at all. I was wondering is it common to have a different z live adjust height for two different materials at different temperatures? On switching back to PLA and lower temps adhesion to the bed and first layer looks great again.
Re: ABS First Print Help
Hello Martin!
Different materials have different temperatures of the heated bed and I think the bed can bend and change height with the temperature. The nozzle will also expand with temperature - so you may change the live Z value to accomodate for such changes. Even ABS will expand (and shrink) with temperature and I have noted that it shrinks approximately 1% after it cools down from 100 degrees C.
