Vertical mark in cylindrical printed part
Hi all,
I printed a cylindrical part with layer height 0.2mm and I am noticing a line in the Z-direction which I can't explain (). Is this the transition from one layer to another or what's the cause? Does anyone know how to solve it?
Thanks!

Hi I'm getting the same problem as you
Re: Vertical mark in cylindrical printed part
Try setting the seam position to "random".

Thanks for your advise. I tried this option but then, I get dots distributed all around the cylindrical shape, so the start of a new layer remains visible.
Anyone having other suggestions?
Re: Vertical mark in cylindrical printed part
I assume you can't avoid these dots or stripes. The layer has to start somewhere.

Re: Vertical mark in cylindrical printed part
I have been printing 55mm - 58mm tubes and if I keep the print speed high, I get blobs, if I lower the speed They go away...
can you reduce the speed on the display and try to do it slower?

Re: Vertical mark in cylindrical printed part
I haven't played with Slic3r but in Simplify 3d there are many options that can help like coasting and other settings

Sadly I have never seen it go away completely unless you use vase mode if the part is going to be finished then I try to make it as it shows in the picture so that I only have to work on one side and I choose the one that is going to be less noticeable if the part is not going to be finished I randomize

I prefer the layer starting points to be all on the same XY location, but can you choose this position? I printed a complicated part and I was lucky because the line was on a side that was hardly visible. Is it possible to choose the location of the layer change?

Re: Vertical mark in cylindrical printed part
yes, you can. in Slic3r you can select Print Settings > Layers and perimeters > Advanced > Seam Position and choose align and then in the preview you can tell there it's going to be and you can move the model around so that it aligns to the place you want.
In Simplify3d is easier. Go to Layer choose start point to specific location and then but the coordinates you want. You can see where that seam is in the preview.
