Strange Pattern on Print

Hello,

Just finished my first large print and everything looks great except this strange pattern on the backside of the printed object. The pattern can be seen below. Please let me know if anyone has any ideas what would cause this. I was printing using PLA and the default slic3r configuration for .2 mm layer height.

Go to http://manual.slic3r.org/expert-mode/fighting-ooze and look at section labeled "Seam position".

I will try a different seam position but would there be any mechanical cause for how pronounced it is. Any thing that might need tightening or loosening to help alleviate the problem.

No, nothing mechanical. The right combination of retraction, coast and wipe will take care of it. It takes experimentation to get the right combination down for different filaments.

Yeah, with some slicers, there are other parameters as well, such as "seam hiding gap", "depth scale", "jitter" and "angle".

Thanks for all the responses, I will play around with the settings and see if I can reduce it. Overall I am getting great prints, very happy with this printer!
