Some printing problem for a larger scaled up object
I'm experiencing some printing problem, not sure why but this box is actually smaller and I did a scale up from its original size. I wonder what went wrong. All the other sides are perfect

Hi Zach
Can you please be a tad more specific as I don't know what the actual problem is...
A couple of things:
1. Your clips at the front may be hitting the LCD case
2. You can buy those boxes on eBay probably cheaper than you can print them... 😉

Re: Some printing problem for a larger scaled up object
The clip is not hitting the LCD. If you look at the left slanting top edge and left inside top corner, in the first photo, there's some defect in the print , hopefully not the printer problem. I'm just testing out a longer print time for a simple object, and it has been running around 44 hours now.
I know it's cheaper to buy those from eBay. Just want to test the printer to print simple shape in details with a longer run time, that's all 🙂
Re: Some printing problem for a larger scaled up object
Well I think it might not be the printer problem after all , but still not sure why it has the defect on the left top corner. I've been observing it for a while and it seems to be the defects was actually created when the nozzle was crossing from right to left, and some of the PLA was coming out a little, before it reach the left side.

In that case you may have too much (or too little) retraction. Difficult to say which. Or it could be too high temperature or too slow moves. Or even the slicer itself.
When the print head moves from one part of the print to another, it retracts the filament, moves and feeds the filament. This all needs to be done as quickly as possible to reduce the time taken and thereby reduce the window for ooze.
Every filament and filament colour will behave differently. You will always get some artifact during print, but the object here is to minimise those artefacts.
Unfortunately, this is all trial and error... there are no hard and fast rules as even the environment and printer build can have an effect on printing.

Re: Some printing problem for a larger scaled up object
Thanks my friend. I realize if I print an object without too much crossing the object will be fantastic.
As soon as I have multiple or crossing of walls. I'll be getting those artifacts. I'll try to increase and decrease the retracts see what will happen. Thanks for the tips
Re: Some printing problem for a larger scaled up object
I'm using Slic3r software and was fiddling with the setting and i can see only enable retraction when crossing and also option to only enable ooze prevention 🙂 will definitely try it out later today cause i'm experiencing those artefacts again with multiple print objects. It's kinda of having those fine spider webbing around as well

Sorry, but I have never used Slic3r, so I can't really help you with settings for it. It does however seem that you may have the extruder temp a tad high.
What temperature are you using?
