Slicing or settings issue ?

Hi there,

thanks for looking at this - maybe you´ve got an idea why my 3dbenchy´s have this strange error.

check out this picture:

The pink and the purple one have an error which looks like a skipped layer (but it isn´t - the height of all benchys is within 0,05mm).
I´ve looked at the layers in slic3r - everything is perfect. I tried different angles on the printbed - no difference. The error occurs where the "deck" on the benchy is (same height). It seems like the shell is pushed out by the "full" infill.

this is the layer where it happens:

this is the fully model sliced - no visible errors:

pink and purple are the same PLA material printed at 200/65 - dark blue is a different brand PLA at 215/65 - the one to the right is ABS at 235/100.

all are sliced in 0,2mm with 3 shells 3 top and bottom layers (maybe 4 - but this shouldn´t make a difference).

I´ve uploaded the "faulty" gcode to gcode.ws and it looked as it should - no visible error.

Which setting do I need to change ? is this maybe an over-extrusion problem ?

Ok. i changed the extrusion multiplier to 0.9 - but still the same error (the model overall looks a bit better tbh).

any ideas ?

Re: Slicing or settings issue ?

i tested a different no-name brand pla and it came out really nice. back to the strange PLA with 0.8 extrusion multiplier - same error. Only difference is that with the strange pla I´ll start cooling at layer 4 ... can this be an issue (can´t think of it tbh).

Any ideas ?

I have just posted a similar error albeit under a different heading. I have started to notice this on other objects where multiple layers meet, the outside can appear misaligned to the rest.

The picture above show that where the box has extra work on the inside, the outer lay is pushed out. The rest is perfect.

Re: Slicing or settings issue ?

I think I´ve figured out my issue with some hints from the prusa3d/Slic3r github community.

I´ve a perfect benchy currently on the printer (more temp on nozzle / less on bed). Need to check if this solves the issue forever.

The outer being pushed out by inner layers happend to me a few times too - usually i don´t care about it - but in slic3r there is something called infill/perimeter overlap in the advanced settings - maybe lowering this value might help ...or try reversing the print order to infill first then the perimeters. This option is called "infill before perimeter" in the infill settings.
