Settings for NinjaTek Semi-Flex

I'm using this filament for the first time. After a number of adjustments and sample test prints, I'm having two problems.

1) It's a bit stringy. It's not so bad that I can't use anything but it's rather extreme. For example, at the end of a print, there's a large string going from the extruder to the print (the extruder gets raised to the top with my gcode settings).

2) This is the larger problem - Small prints have worked OK. On a larger (2 hour) print, at some point the extruder will back up and the filament will no longer feed. There is no obvious reason this occurs. The filament appears as though the extruder couldn't push successfully and the filament is now stuck. It's not difficult to clear and there doesn't appear to be any clogging and once I remove the filament from near and around the hobbed gear I'm able to reload filament without a problem.

I'm looking for some basic settings from anyone that's had success using this filament. Temp, retraction, fan or anything else that might help.

I'm using Slic3r.

if i remember i'll post my settings. you have to run it super hot and Super slow.

1) it oozes a lot there isn't much you can really do you could add a Gcode to start a cooldown drop the temp add a delay then home the extruder. turn off Zhop to reduce stringing also.

2) back off your hobbed gear 2 screws with springs 1 full turn to reduce the tension on the flex filament. again you have to run it hotter usually.

again i'll try to remember to post my settings.

there are 2 basic settings i have, one is normal extrusion. this produces a normal part with infill that you would expect.
then i have a second version where i intentionally cut the infill extrusion so it underextrudes. that produces a much softer part making the inside very very stringy but not effecting the perimeters. like a sponge inside.

i feel the minimum strength requires 2 perimeters , basically the first walls holds the part together and the second covers any misses in the first. if you go to 1 perimeter to try and make the part softer it just doesn't have good strength.

this will be for slic3r.
