Round prints detaching

Hopefully I can get a resolution to my issues, this is the first time I've had significant issues printing anything. I'm trying to print a handle, consisting of several cylinders on a shaft. The print starts well enough, and then after 10-20 layers the part starts to curl, making the piece rock in place under the extruder until it eventually detaches. I'm printing at 205 deg with a 55 deg bed, using PLA. I've enabled supports, but they don't seem to be of much help. Using the standard 10mm PLA profile with Slic3r, the only adjustments being the slightly lower temperature and support material.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Round prints detaching

A few thing to try.

1) Make sure you have a very good Live Z setting:

2) Make sure your bed is very clean. Use pure IPA or if it has oils, pure acetone.
3) Enable supports and put in a significant Overhand threshold (say 35deg)
4) Enable "with Sheath Around" on the support material page
5) Add a good sized brim to make sure you have good contact area.

If these don't help, post more photos so we can see what is going on.

Any advices given are offered in good faith. It is your responsibility to ensure that by following my advice you do not suffer or cause injury, damage or loss. If you solve your problem, please post the solution…
