Removing white layer from ABS Juice ?

Hi,

I'm actually printing the shinny new Rambo case, using orange ABS.

So I add a layer of ABS Juice, the one delivered with the printer, but it put a kind of white traces on the surface siding the heatbed. Does this mean I put too much ? Or is it normal, and how should I remove it ?

Thanks for answering my very basic questions 🙂

I'm like Jon Snow, I know nothing.

Hi Christophe

You should only ever apply a very light coating of juice onto a cold glass sheet. Any white traces indicate the glass was too warm or you have built up too many thick layers.

Time for a clean!

What is the best way to clean the glass?

Also, I noticed on my new piece of glass it was treated and looked like a brush was used to spread it evenly across the surface. When I apply the ABS juice should I spray it on and then use a brush to evenly apply it to the whole glass? or maybe even a small foam roller? Am I going over-kill?

I can see now how wrong I was doing it.

I was putting way too much juice, thanks a lot for the video, I will follow this modus operandi now.

Hot soapy water and soak it for 10 minutes. The way I do it now is make a slurry puck of the color you are printing and the spray bottle of acetone to get the bed damp. When you get your part off the bed the juice you made will be the same color.

I confirm, letting soak in hot water, even without soap, did the trick perfectly to clean it.

However, I try to prepare my clean surface as stated on the video, but I'm not sure that one layer of glue is just enough, I have the feeling that the glass that was delivered already prepared had more glue on it.

However, I tried to use a paper towel to spread the ABS juice, but it was not a good method, the paper twel seems to adsorb too much liquids.

So the ABS didn't adhere well the Headbed .

I will try with an old sheet of tissue, or find another material that dos not absorb much and let spread the ABS juice on the glass, not on the tissue.

When using the ABS juice push the button hard enough so it will mist. If you only press it a little it will stream out instead of misting. You only need 1 fine layer for ABS to stick.
