Problems printing MK2S Parts

Has anyone else tried to print the X-Axis Idler and X-Axis Motor Brackets from the MK2S parts files? I have printed several and the same issue keeps happening. The parts print great but the linear bearing slots are too large and you can't get them to friction fit in the slots. I put them in with no resistance and they fall right out. I have tried inserting Misumi Linear Bearings and the Prusa Upgrade Bearings and they just fall out. I printed the parts with Prusa EasyABS using the stock settings in Slic3r with no modifications. Anybody else tried printing these parts out of the new MK2S STL files?? I contacted Prusa support and the rep thought I was crazy but I have printed the same parts 4 times and none of them will hold the linear bearings in place. Should I try to print them at 99% scale to see if that corrects the fitment issue or would that make the parts too small? I am at a loss as to what to do and my second MK2 is down because I cracked the original x-Axis idler bracket. Any help would be much appreciated.

You're not the only one with that problem. One of my colleagues told me exactly the same thing. You know how he fixed it? He glued them in with a small drop of silicone (left over from renovating his bathroom).. Might not be the best option, but he's happy with it.

➡ just wrap one layer of adhesive tape around the bearing, then the friction should hold it in place without any problems.

How about asking Prusa to fix the files? They act like I am the only one that ever reported the issue and said there is nothing wrong with the files. if others report it, maybe they will fix the issue. Wrapping tape around the linear bushings is not a permanent fix that I want do have to do to get my MK2S working like it should.

I can say that I have printed 2 sets and in both the bearings fit perfectly.

Re: Problems printing MK2S Parts

I am using orange Prusa EasyABS with stock settings in Prusa Version of Slic3r and my printer is in an enclosure. What variable could I be missing? I printed another X-Idler Bracket this morning and again, the linear bearings fell right out. I am not wasting any more time on it and will just print the original version out of the MK2 STL files.

How about asking Prusa to fix the files? ...
💡 i've printed the files as well for my own prusa i3 MK2(S) clone and i didn't need to do anything to fix the bearings. but i noticed that the bearings doesn't sit as tight inside the x-idler and x-motor end part as they did at the MK2 version.
in fact, when i have a closer look at the *.stl files, the MK2S version is approximately 0.2mm wider than the old part.

but as prusa provides the source files (*.scad) as well, you can just render them, using openscad, with a tighter bearing diameter yourself. it's not as complicated as openscad looks at first glance.
💡 you just need to alter the value of bearing_diameter=14.95 inside the bearings.scad to a slightly tighter value like 14.7 (save it), open the x-motor and x-idler part, press F6 and export the part as a new stl file.

➡ i guess prusa has used a bigger diameter on purpose, so that the bearings inside the x-carriage fit better, because some people had issues letting the bearings "snap in" at the x-carriage.... furthermore, a bigger diameter won't squish the igus bearings as well (which made them hard to move at the axis).

Its impossible to perfectly account for Filament thickness and extruder calibration on a static file. So I understand not being perfect on every single machine.
