Polycarbonate anyone ?
Hi,
I plan to try some print with Polycarbonate to make some pieces with some mechanical constraint, but will start with some test print first.
Do you have any advice ? Anyone who already tried this material ?

I used this poly from filaments.ca on my old MK1 but now use Nylon 680 on the MK2. Great for the medical laboratory equipment that needs to be sterilized in an autoclaver.
Anyway, Nylon 680 doesn't stick too well to the PEI bed. I always need glue. But other than that, my parts are done with various infills and layer heights at 50mm/s. Nothing special.

Can i ask how you got that PC to print on the Mk 1? I was always under the impression that you needed extruder temps of 260-300C for PC, (unless it was a blend) the E3D lite that comes with the mk1 couldnt get over 250 without endangering the PTFE liner.

Looking at the link Steve provided, the temperatures are stated as 235 to 270. So very printable with the Mk1 at lower speeds. And there is also the possibility that he upgraded his Mk1 to a V6 hot end.

You're right about the temps with the MK1. At the time, I had requirements to use that material so printing PC at 255C (which was satisfactory for the parts) did a number a number on my PTFE tube. I replaced it twice 🙂
