Parts from different models missing after slicing in Slic3r and PrusaControl
Hey Guys!
I am preparing myself for when my MK3 finally arrives, and have been playing around with the settings of both Slic3r PE and PrusaControl to see what program i fancy more. So far, Slic3r gives me way more control and i think that i can handle it just fine with the research i have done so far. There is only one problem.
I want to use my printer mainly for printing miniatures for tabletop gaming, and a guy from the community was so nice to openly share a ton of models that we can use. Now the smaller models are perfectly fine, but when i start importing bigger models into both programs, the same problems arise. Some parts of the model are simply missing after slicing.
It is certainly not a size issue. Sometimes entire chunks are gone for no apperant reason. I also tried Cura just to be sure (Using the MK2.5 settings just because), and there all the models slice just fine. One problem though, i can't find a preset for MK3 settings for Cura anywhere on the internet (Aside from a really incomplete one on this forum).
So the question is, is there a way for me to fix this, or is this a slicer issue? If yes, does anyone have a Cura preset for the MK3 available to share? Thanks in advance!

Can you share the STL file? My first question is whether there might be some defect in the STL which Cura manages to figure out but Slic3r has problems with.

Try running it through the Netfab fixer and see if the repaired file works any better.

Both the full model and the standalone body part have the same problem. Ill try netfab to see if it works.
Edit: Wow that seemed to work perfectly. I downloaded netfab before, but couldnt find the correct function to fix the file. Bookmarked! Thanks a bunch!

WOW!! I was having the exact same problem. Have spent 2 days fiddling with it trying to figure out how to get Prusa Control to slice all of my model - it was leaving out some rather large parts. Just read this thread and ran my model through the Netfab repair site and viola, it works perfectly! Thank you so much for the lead!

For general, have an eye on this in slic3r :
If your "things" has errors, maybe it's not printable. Repair it (netfabb or other tools).
