Noob issue
I just built MK3 and got it up and running yesterday, have printed some of the included models and even downloaded parts and printed a new nozzle-fan manifold in PETG with no issues using Prusa Slic3r with recommended settings to created gcode. This is my first dabble with 3D printing and I know next to nothing about CAD... so... yeah.. a total Noob:)
I am trying to print a simple model my buddy created in Tinkercad which is cylinder with 6mm od, 5mm id. about 12mm tall. For some reason the print is only doing about 60% of the circular cross section and I noticed I see the same thing in Preview on Slic3r app.
Adding screen shots of what I'm seeing.
The question is.. How much of an idiot am I? 🙂
Thanks,
Kevin
Re: Noob issue
Can you post the model file?
Also if the wall is thinner than the nozzle it will not print it.
A simple way to test is to try increasing scale of model to say 150% and slice it again, if it shows it complete then my guess is the wall thickness is to thin one that side.
Re: Noob issue
Should have included model to start with, looks like I could not attach stl directly so I've zipped it. The wall thickness should be 1 mm all the way around but I could not figure out how to see that in Tinkercad.

... cylinder with 6mm od, 5mm id. about 12mm tall. ...
This would give you a 0.5mm wall thickness.
Your inner and outer circles don't have the same center, wall thickness on one side is 0.393 millimeters, other side is 0.551 millimeters.

Re: Noob issue
Duh, yes wall thickness should be 0.5. Interesting the hole was not lined up. If I zoomed in really close I could see the diff is wall even though I could not see it numerically. I talked to my buddy who also is a noob and he said he just tried to eyeball the alignment. I'll try to create this object myself and see how it works.
Thanks for the help!
Re: Noob issue
I think I was able to recreate that part correctly and I did preview it but before printing my buddy discovered his dimensions were incorrect anyway. He needed 6mm ID and 8 mm OD. I was able to create and print that one successfully. I think the issue he had was grid size defaults to 1mm and with his original specs he could not align so he must have turned snap off and just did not quite have things lined up. When I recreated I set grid to 0.1mm and was able to snap correctly.
Thanks again for the help.
