new slic3r beta

I went to github and got all the new .ini files. Downloaded them and put them in the appropriate directories in usr......AppData/Roaming/Slic3r/filaments etc. After doing that Slic3r would not start. Looked at the .ini files and realized when I did a save link ass on each .ini file it saved it out as HTML. So I got them all saved off as straight text and thought if would be OK. Replaced the HTML ones with text based .ini files and fired up Slic3r. It wouldn't run. Big question mark. So I eliminated all .ini files in each folder: Filament, Print, and printer. Tried to run Slic3r and it ran.
I can't figure out why Slic3r won't run and read the .ini files.
Can anyone shed some light on this.

Another question.
When I went to print an object with the new software The nozzle would not heat up. Then I copied and pasted the Start G-code and the End G-code from my original Slic3r instillation and still the nozzle would not heat up automatically like it did with the original installation of Slic3r that installed with the driver package. I had to preheat the nozzle manually by selecting the option on the led pad.
The g-code shows that ir is supposed to heat the nozzle. Any ideas?

Sorry for being such a pain in the butt.
Any answers will be great. ( I suppose using beta software is always a risk.)
Thanks

p.s. Used the variable layer height option to print a small spherical ball. Seems to do an excellent job

Re: new slic3r beta

I have updated the readme on https://github.com/prusa3d/Slic3r-settings
Is this information sufficient?

Also there is a "clone or download" green button at the right top of the page. Click that, select "download zip", then you will get the content of the repository downloaded, so there will be no danger of having it mangled in the HTML form.
