How to check or see if support is required?

I have the following 3d model i would like to print:

But i have the feeling the long bar in the middle will not be able to be printed properly.
Is support material required here? (i know its required for the bottom)
But with support of the same material i fear i will not be able to drill this out.

How is this printed? Any tips?

Support material generated with slic3r is usually thin enough to easily pick and peel away after the print. Is the item hollow inside?

If necessary, play around with the overhang treshold in slic3r.

No the item itself not, however that hole/bar that you see inside comes out the other side of the model...And since its 2mm in height, its tough to pick away any support material. Maybe a small drill will do the job but not sure...

A 2mm hole through a mostly solid object shouldn't need support material, you should be fine.

In the very worst case, there's a slight "droop" in the top area of the hole which can easily be compensated/straightened out by just manually pushing & rotating a drill bit through the hole.

Over a 30 degree overhang is the guildline. In Simplyfy3d you can edit supports, ie remove or add them as required. I have saved a few prints editing the supports. With supports always print with a raft if from the bed up! Helps prevents falling over of supports from the bed up.
