Gcode not loading from Slic3r

Hey all,
I'm having a strange problem I loaded some gcode from slic3r on a new sd card the other day. I started the print and after a few minutes it came off the bed. That will happen now and then and wasn't the strange part. What was weird is that when I went to reload the file from slic3r because I wanted to change a few things the new file wouldn't work. The file is there on the lcd but when i tell it to print it just home's and then just sits there and doesn't do anything. But I can go back and still print the file I had loaded earlier. Since this happened I haven't got anything new I've added to start printing properly. I haven't really had time to explore why this is happening but thought I'd ask here to see if anyone had any ideas.
Thanks!

Re: Gcode not loading from Slic3r

Hi Kenny

There are a few threads on here which describe similar situations to what you have explained. There are a few possible causes here's some of them:

SD Card full
Faulty SD card
Slicer not finished writing when the file was transferred to the SD card
SD card ejected from PC before OK for "safe removal"
Use of USB Hub rather than direct connection
Faulty PC card reader

NOTE - all these are PC/human related - nothing to do with the printer. It is very unlikely that the printer is at fault here. If it has worked, then it will continue to work unless something is wrong outside the printer.

Put the SD card in the PC and open the gcode file with Notepad++ (or similar) and compare the end of it with other gcode files known to be OK.

And regarding issues with the first layer, make sure Slic3r has a first layer height of at least 0.23mm and ensure that the bed is calibrated; maybe make the card a tad tighter than you usually do and ensure the bed is preheated to temp before you start the print.

I thought I replied to this ages ago but clearly I didn't.
It was the SD card being full. I'm surprised I didn't get an error message about it when I tried to but more files on it
Thanks alot it would have taken me a long time to think to check that.
Also the >.23mm for the first layer was my problem. It was my first time trying to print .1mm after I did the 1.75 mm upgrade and fixing that sorted it right out.
