Flats on my cylinders and circles
Hi All. I hope someone can shed some light on my issue. I have been making great prints for a while but always when there is a cylinder or perfect circile we get flats on the perimeter. see attached image.
the OBJ file is created in fusion 360 and imported into the Prusa slicer.
The settings are basic draft 0.3 layer height as this works for most of my requirements and reduces the print time.
hope someone can suggest what I'm doing wrong the slicer file shows a perfectly smooth cylinder.
Thanks in advance.
RE: Flats on my cylinders and circles
it's the export from fusion 360, you need to raise the level of detail . fusion is converting the arcs into line segments when it created the triangle mesh. you need to tell fusion to use more triangles ( higher resolution)
RE: Flats on my cylinders and circles
Hi David. thank you for your reply. I simply select the bodies and export as an object file. There does not seem to be anywhere to make setting changes. Can you advise me further on this?
The strange thing is the slicer image in the software, even if you zoom right in close, shows a perfectly smooth surface. that is, however, not what comes out.
cheers
John
