Filament issue

Hi Guys

In the middle of printing a model; 1 x 13 hour print complete and 3 to go. Short on filament, so I can't afford to waste any... Should just about be able to complete the model.

Then, 3 hours into the second part, I hear the filament pulley skipping. Couldn't work out why, so I stopped the print, reduced the temp to 95 degrees and pulled the filament, expecting to see some blockage in the PTFE tubing.

Then I noticed a bulge in the filament:

I have to say that this is the first time in almost 2 years I have seen anything like this, but I am a little miffed as I probably won't have enough filament to complete the model. Re-slicing now, in an attempt to reduce the amount of filament the rest of the print needs...

Re: Filament issue

Bad luck, really.
Any chance to slice only unfinished part and then glue it together?

I agree it is bad luck, but unfortunately, it cannot be glued - it has to hold water.
