External Perimeters Rough Layers
Has anyone seen this before? The external perimeters at a certain part of my model are extruding very rough. Each layer afterwards only gets more rough, making a mess of the finish. It only happens on this model. It's worse on one side of the model than the other side. The beginning of the model prints fine and so does the end. It always begins at the same point of the model each time. It results in a large scar on the outside of the print.
Any idea what this is?
Thanks,
Jesse

The red lines are where it begins printing rough.
Re: External Perimeters Rough Layers
Perhaps it is a warping issue? I tend to print everything with brim set to 5mm in slic3r to prevent edges curling upward. Also the path of the fan differs from that of the nozzle during printing. This may cause differences in cooling. Maybe rotating the print about z for 45 degrees will help?
Re: External Perimeters Rough Layers
What material is it printed with? PETG?
It seems like the infill is pushing the walls. You may try to switch from cubic to a grid infill and to reduce the infill-perimeter overlap.
