Re: Estimating print time with slic3r

You can't find it because it doesn't exist in slic3r. You can upload the gcode to http://gcode.ws/# and it will give you all the information.

This is an upcoming feature in the next release as I understand it. It is being worked on currently. Soon...

#necrobump but I guess "not so soon" after all. Too bad. I really like Slic3r but I often toy around with settings to see how they impact print time to decide if it's worth it to me. In that area Cura does a lot better.

You do realize he posted this in 01-2018 and not in 01-2017 when the thread was initially started. Five days from his post to yours. Not long at all.

Now that you mention it... I was looking at the "join" dates. Thanks for pointing that out 😉
Well then, my +1 for this feature I guess.

Re: Estimating print time with slic3r

+1 for me too - coming from a non-Prusa printer onto my first (MK3), I was previously using Cura, but love the simplicity of Prusa Slic3r and all the given pre-sets! I always add the estimated print duration to my saved Gcode files, and having that value available after slicing, and before exporting the Gcode, simplifies this massively. I guess for now i'll have to parse it online, and update the filename afterwards 🙁 Octoprint's print time estimation sucks in comparison to the Cura one too...

Re: Estimating print time with slic3r

Someone on FB compiled dev version of new version of Slic3r, where this feature is implemented. Jo commented that there will be FW simulator in Slic3r, so the estimated time will be very precise (max. 5% error). 😉

Time is shown after g-code is saved.

Re: Estimating print time with slic3r

Hi, why not show the time estimation after slicing? You always adjust a bit here and there to see how the printing time changes before storing the gcode to the SD-Card.
