Concern with thin layers (less than 0.2mm)

Hi,

I have a concern when I try to print with thin layers (less or equal to 0.1mm).
I have the same concern with PLA or ABS material.

With 0.2mm layers, global aspect is quite good even if it could still be improved

But with 0.1mm layers, result is simply horrible (look at the lower area of the boat hull)

I tried several solutions : external perimeter speed, material temperature, etc... but unfortunately without succes
Other concern on the boat : In both configurations I have 2 horizontal line in the middle of the boat hull.

I don't understand the cause of this issue. Could you please help me to understand and find a solution to this issue

To print I use Slic3r with below parameters

ABS
Hot end temperature : 240°C

Thanks for your help,

Fred

Fred

I remember seeing a video by Tom Sanladerer addressing exactly this issue. I seem to recall it had something to do with bed temperature (but I may be well wrong!).

Check out his youtube channel.

Thanks for the link.
If I understand, I have to reduce bed temperature and add cooling. I just launch a print with bed temperature at 90°C (instead of 100°) and with fan cooling at 10%.
Wait and see

I just have a look on my print with new parameter.
It is better on the sides. But front of the boat is still horrible (but better than previous print).

I launch a new print with bed temperature at 85°C.
