Circular Prints Rough

When printing a circular obeject it turns out real rough. It will print the outer and inner layer in one pass but then comes back and trys to do an infill or something. I have set infill to 100% on slic3r and it does the same thing.

Re: Circular Prints Rough

Hi Roy

When printing, is the inside printed first? It does look as though there could be an over-extrusion issue. You could try reducing the flow rate by 10% to see if it makes any difference and if it does, you should calibrate the flow and adjust the E steps setting.

Re: Circular Prints Rough

Does the print head move smoothly, or do you experience any jerking movements when extruding the outer layer?
Do you print from an SD card or from USB?
How big is the g-code file?

The issue may be caused by too many very tiny movements generated by the Slic3r from your STL model. The STL model may be too detailed and the printer controller may not keep up with the printing process. For a smooth non-linear surface, one has to choose the right discretization of the STL model. Too fine and the printer will not keep up. Too rough and the discretization will be visible on the object surface.
