Can the wood filaments be considered "abrasive"?
I'd venture to guess, no. I'm not beyond using hardened or stainless nozzles, but wondered what it would be that is in that stuff that would make it eat up a nozzle. I can see the metal or carbon fiber filaments, but the wood?
Thoughts? Experiences?

Whenever I print with wood filaments, I just use the regular brass nozzle - however wrong some people consider it... I have not found the need to replace the nozzle more often.
I do have a hardened steel nozzle for carbon fibre and metal.

I work with metals all the time - part of why I ventured into 3D printing finally. It didnt make sense that wood would ( <--- laughs) have that much of a short term effect on brass. I assume in my case I'll just keep a handful of spares around (brass) instead of dropping +- $20 on hardened for that. By the time I "need" to toy with carbon/metal filaments, I'll probably have a couple more MK2's.
That is if I ever get my first one- still waiting guys! You're running LATE! (laughs)

I guess you ordered a pre-built printer? And did you request a signature?
Those are the two things which can delay delivery somewhat.

Yeah, pre-built for the first one, back when it was on a 3 week delay. Going on 5 weeks soon now. Im not overly grumpy yet, getting there because its not exactly a hobby, Ive been doing specialty work and (what I feel) a bit of experimentation/modification to a lesser printer to improve the use of these for what I do- archeological/restorative/recreative metal casting. I'm about to contact them, but Ive been quiet because I know the growing pains they are going through, been on both sides of the corporate desk and not one to be a problematic customer out of respect.
Not easy at times, I'm geeked about getting it. 🙂

I know how you feel about the wait, but it will be worth it.
When I bought the Mk1, it was delivered fairly quickly; the Mk2 took a few weeks and the multi-filament upgrade seems to be taking forever.
Communication could be improved; it would be good to get a message occasionally letting you know you are moving up the queue...

That was the part that I haven't come to grips with. (PR, Im not trash talking you now) Periodic updates go a long way. It's crucial to the growth process as well. Customers like seeing how things are going, and I know I cant be the only one in the queue. It's fun watching Josef's enthusiasm and I wish they'd update the blog a little more frequently. at this point I'm just pacing. (laughs)

My experience, the wood (cellulose filaments) are not too abrasive and do not overly wear stock 3D printer nozzles.
