Z-screw covers

Z-screw covers

Been building the Mk3 which arrived this week, was going nicely until the removal of the Trapezoid nuts and replacing with the screw covers, cant get them to screw down the thread and one got any suggestions of help would be greatly received as I am new to 3d printing and want to get up and running.

They can be a little tight - if you keep a little downward pressure on them whilst turning the rod anti clockwise they should thread up - I think they're deliberately tight, just make sure the tapered surface is on top, flat side toward the thread.

My suggestion is take a pair of slip join pliers and use it to hold the thread steady ( use something soft in between to prevent damage). Then use a cloth or something to help get the covers on. At least your putting it on at the right time. I did not see that part in that step and had to put them on at the end, resulting in me having to partially disassemble the extruder and Z axis. That was a pita.

Thank you for your replies, I did in the end use a small pair of mole grips on the screw thread with some cloth in between and pliers to apply a bit of pressure on the covers and it worked.
