Z Calibration failing

My Z calibration fails. Don't really see a problem. Any ideas?

Re: Z Calibration failing

Your PENTA probe is extending down too far and reduced the Z distance due to that fact.

I actually have it up higher now. Moved it a few times to try different positions. The light is going off as it should but still fails z calibration.

I noticed that when I auto home it works perfectly but at the beginning of calibrate z it says auto home but it's not actually going home before moving up. is that normal?

Re: Z Calibration failing

Just watched your video. Your extruder assembly is put together incorrectly. You can tell because your nozzle is WAY below the orange "HOT" fan shroud.

Compare the strait-on view from this picture to your setup:

Specifically I'd be looking at This page on Step 18 if I was you:

Agree. Specifically your E3D V6 hotend is not in the correct place, it is too low. you will need to disassemble the extruder and redo it as per the manual. Be glad it has been noticed now otherwise you could have ended up with a large gouge in your bed or worse. Good luck!

Edit: After seating the V6 correctly you will have to reposition your PINDA too of course.

RE: Z Calibration failing

I had the same isue - the printer was running for about 6 weeks and than this problem started. Z could not calibrate. Check axis. But everything was ok. The Axis stopped 5 mm above the bed.

This helped me :

When i was reading it, i realized - the problem started after the last firmwareupdate. After that i had some adhesion problems.

After a full reset and again firmwareupdate - every issue was gone.

RE: Z Calibration failing

Also the pinda probe should hit the circle on the bed.

The fan should hit the print and not the heating block.
