X-Axis Carriage - Belt Slips
So was (still am) psyched to get my mk3, especially after a less than favorable ordeal with the multi-material mk2 addition ( besides the point ). However I'm having a problem with the XAxis, see the attached image from the manual. Where the belts loop around on the back of the carriage, on both sides, the gap is too wide and the belts slip out when tensioned even a little. There is no way I'm tensioning too much as the belt is pretty loose when the slippage starts. The belt teeth are meshed it's just the gap is too wide.
Anyone else run into this? Currently I shoved a zip tie in the gap along with the two sides of the belt to make up the difference however I'm seeing some layer shifting printing marvin from the sd card gcode and believe my hack, and the too large gap, could be the problem. I need to find the MK3 stls so I can print a replacement I guess, was just hoping to save some time.
Also seeing nasty rattling from the power supply and squeaking from the x axis idler pulley but I can wait to address those until after this and saw some others have seen those issues as well.

I had that too, but on the other belt anchor (left side in the pic). It's a bad part. They used way too little infill and it bends.
I shimmed it with a piece of thin cardboard in there to keep the belt from sliding out (essentially making the belt thicker). This held it long enough to print a replacement carriage, and actually is still going strong. I probably won't put the replacement in unless it fails before my mk3 upgrade arrives.

I ran into this issue too. Definitely too little infill in this part as printed by Prusa.

My printed part was fine... it is really snug in there.
You can contact support and they will most likely send you a new one.
If you cant wait then you should try to do what others did to solve it and start printing while you wait for the part to arrive. 😀

I've had similar issuez happen with a couple of printers for work. Ended up putting a zip-tie around the free part of the belt to lock it in place around the peg.
In my mind this is not a good design to secure a belt, as a lot of things can go wrong and it's very difficult to tension after final installation.

I initially thought mine was fine too. I noticed today that my belt was no longer tensioned properly. I think the part stretched a bit over time, to the point where the belt was able to skip a tooth at some point. I did use a piece of tape to solve the issue temporarily, but I suspect this part will cause issues for many users when printed with too little infill.
I'd really love to see a redesign of the extruder assembly that allows for tensioning the belt without having to fight with the wiring.

Thats one good thing about having a bit of a wait before the new toy arrives. Am right now printing the carriage on my current printer, just to be ready

Same issue here. I also had to use the same zip-tie fix (used the thin part, like that used for the PINDA initial setting). I'll print a replacement if this work-around fails.

I have this issue also. When I pulled the belt to ensure it was snug, multiple times I had the belt teeth allow the belt to slip out. I continued with the build and hope it does not cause future problems. But, I too believe there is too much clearance allowing the belt to slip.
