Which sections of the build can be done by different people?
Is it possible to split up the kit build so two people can work on different parts without stepping on each other? I was hoping I could divide up the work between myself and my son so we can build it faster.

about the only bits are one builds the main frame,
whilst the other inserts the captive nuts in the Y axis supports.
assembles the Y axis bearings and U bolts.
and the y motor on the motor bracket,
and the Y idler
Assembles the X axis and extruder, fans and filament sensor
assembles the hot bed contact cover, nylon cable support and spiral wrap ready for placement on the Y carriage later
these sub assemblies will then be added to the main frame as time allows.
this should help speed the build

Most of the sections are assembled separately before adding them to the printer. The X axis, the Extruder, the Y axis and bed. All have many steps that are completed separately before assembly with the rest of the printer. Depends a bit on how skilled the kid is. You could have him build the frame (Step 1) which is really pretty easy, while you do the next chapter. Or if he is older you could skip to the extruder and let him at the first three chapters. Extruder takes quite a while and most of it is a separate build.
If it were me I would just play it by ear. Get him started then read ahead and see what you can do while he is working on his tasks. Be sure to check things over at the end of each chapter to make sure he got things right. And have him check your work too. If there are things he struggles with, like setting nuts in nut traps you could prep those for him, etc.
