Re: Vouchers for the 2.5
I think it is great that Prusa now has two options for MK2s users: MK2.5 and MK3 update. That is just awesome!
I do not get the "joke" talk. I understand that they have PLENTY of work to do these days. So support is slow to reply - but in the end everybody should be happy.
And regarding the January date: What is the problem? When you have your MK2s running it will work until your upgrade arrives. No big deal. I guess MK3s that you order today will not be shipped until January, too - Just a guess.
I saw a youtube video today of New York Makers Fair 2016 where Josef announced the MMU for shipping in November 🙂 So I really hope the MK3 leaves factory at the end of November:-) But I have trust in Prusa Research - they work hard and seem to be good people...
Re: Vouchers for the 2.5
well i don't know what the issue is Prusa Research are giving what its customers ask for a better upgrade path
note they did not have to do this.
i have ordered the MK3 and it gets here when it gets here i have all so ordered the 2.5 upgrade not sure if i need it yet
i have mk2s on haribo frame 6 pei sheets and 3 heat beds and just received an MMU with is ear marked for the haribo setup
will hold on th the 2.5 upgrade until MMU is upgradable and then possible fit it if MMU runs of may just sell 2.5 upgrade on
my view is we use Prusa products because they are good, Josef and his team have always give what people have asked for and yes deliveries
can be long but once you have the Prusa printers dialled in it just prints
Re: Vouchers for the 2.5
Can someone help me understand what the benefits would be of upgrading to the full mk3 versus the mk2.5 upgrade?
What do these parts offer me in terms of better or faster printing that doesn't come with the mk2.5 upgrade?
Re: Vouchers for the 2.5
Just received the voucher and ordered the 2.5 upgrade. I will first finish the haribo upgrade and next year the 2.5 upgrade. Upgrade to MK3 will cost me too much now. I will go for the MK4 in a few years 😉
Re: Vouchers for the 2.5 - not as big as advertised
What's going on with the actual voucher values? AFAICS The voucher isn't given me the advertised discount.
The blog post for the MK3 said $199 for the upgrade, or $99 if you bought in the 30 days prior to announcement (which I did), so effectively half price.
However my voucher is only for a £60 *after tax* discount on a GBP retail tax-inclusive price of £167.02 + £8.10 shipping (£175.12) for a net total of £115.12.
Shouldn't my total instead be ~half of £167.20 + shipping, i.e. about £91.20. To make the advertised offer work the voucher should be about £84, not £60. 😯
Re: Vouchers for the 2.5
The wording of the 30day voucher is badly done. You get US$100 equivalent which takes the MKS2.5 upgrade to $99 + shipping, if you're a previous MK2S owner the store detects your logon and much like the hidden MK2S spares page and discounts the MK2.5 upgrade to US$149 + shipping.
If you are not getting the US$50 discount on the upgrade as a previous owner you'll need to speak with support as to why..
Re: Vouchers for the 2.5
@ray.b3 ... guess Brexit kicks in... £ is not worth much this days...

Re: Vouchers for the 2.5
Still no voucher for me 🙁

Re: Vouchers for the 2.5
got my 100 EUR voucher today and ordered the MK3 Kit.
Re: Vouchers for the 2.5
I am considering to get the mk2.5 upgrade instead of the mk3 upgrade since the mk2 upgrade are kind of.... way overboard. Does anyone troed to contact the support team regarding the mk3 upgrade without the frame itself? Surely enough that without the frame would be just fine for most of us means that we only need the electronics.
Can someone help me understand what the benefits would be of upgrading to the full mk3 versus the mk2.5 upgrade?

Everything in 24v, you only have to buy 5 pieces of stepper motor to rebuild the left out mk2. The mk3 upgrade kit comes with everything except the motor only. On second thought, you also gonna need smooth rods and leadscrews for the empty mk2 frame
Re: Vouchers for the 2.5
I think one could argue for the MK3 update: What happens, when there is a MK3S or a MK4 in the future? From MK3 there is likely going to be an upgrade path. From MK2.5, likely there will be not.
Just my 2 cents
Re: Vouchers for the 2.5
No voucher here yet 😕
Voucher is valid for MK3 upgrade or only for mk2.5?
Sorry for my poor English. I try to do my best.
Re: Vouchers for the 2.5
I got my voucher!
I'm not super familiar yet with all of the required parts to make a full printer. Would anyone be willing to do me (and probably lots of folks) the service of analyzing:
[Full MK2S kit] + [Parts on MK3 upgrade] - [Full MK3 kit] = [Leftover MK2S parts]
And then also:
[Full MK2S kit] - [Leftover MK2S parts] = [Parts to purchase to get another working MK2S]
Which I guess simplifies to:
[Full MK3 kit] - [MK3 upgrade] = [Parts to purchase to get another working MK2S]
Essentially, if I were considering a second printer, what's the difference in cost between MK3 upgrade + missing MK2S parts vs. a full MK3 printer.

By my math, some printed parts (not sure how many and witch ones yet), smooth rods, bearings and the motors. Everything else you should have already. In the end you need a MK2 to MK2S upgrade kit, the motors and some printed parts.
Re: Vouchers for the 2.5
What's with all the negativity?? The fact that you have the option for a MK2.5 or MK3 upgrade PLUS a discount and still whinging? Personally I'm pleased. I've ordered the MK3 upgrade for my MK2S.
Re: Vouchers for the 2.5
Hi guys,
Just to confirm:
I ordered a MK2 in January, got a MK2S in April and still haven't got a voucher?
Am i alone with that? Have all of you got their voucher?
Because I'm not sure if I am eligible since I ordered a MK2 and got a MK2S...

Re: Vouchers for the 2.5
Yes, that's it.
You don't receive a voucher, like by email or other.
When you're logged in with the account you used to purchase your printers the price cut will directly be applied on the upgrade as on your screenshot.
Re: Vouchers for the 2.5
I received my voucher for the 2.5 upgrade, by e-mail on 18. october. 🙂
Re: Vouchers for the 2.5
Guys, thanks for the tip with the online shop. There the price was discounted.
