Varible layer heights usage

Hi
has anyone been using the variable layer height in the Prusa slic3r, i haven't seen much mention of it on the forum. if anyone has used it can you share the results good or bad. this seems like a great thing to get extra detail where you need it etc.
i have also read a couple of threads where people had bad top layers and i thought that variable layer height would have helped that kind of issue out.

I use it for overhangs. 0.15 I can get around 70 degrees with no relevant sagging. 0.05mm I can get around 80degrees.
It looks nice too. Much faster than a full print at 0.05... Which I do way too often. Lolol
