Variation in print smoothness
Hey all looking for some advice on this
I get a pretty varied bunch of prints on my mk3 test prints from sd card seem to be fine but I get this quality from others
Have calibrated again and again. Also noticing a lot of vibration with the spool holder on top.
Any help on improving prints appreciated
Re: Variation in print smoothness
that looks like a cooling issue, which is kind of the mk3s achilles heel at the moment. run a few temp towers and see which looks the best for you.
maybe some retract/restart artifacts as well. not sure what slicer you use, but try and get rid of as many retractions as you can unless you really need them.
Re: Variation in print smoothness
looks like over extrusion maybe?
Hi, I'm Sean. I used to work on CNC machines.
I try to not make mistakes, but the decision is YOURS.
Please feel free to donate to my filament/maintance fund.
Re: Variation in print smoothness
rotated the prints by 90 degrees to limit the wobble in the printer, seems to have corrected the inconsistency in the extrusion. just purchased some rubber matting to go underneath the printer to see if that helps with the wobble in the x axis.
Re: Variation in print smoothness
I have found that when the full spool mass is mounted on top of the frame it can cause nozzle height variations of .005" (125 microns) or more when jiggling from the printer movement and transferred up thru the frame. My spool will be placed on the desktop eventually with a Bowden type feed tube.
