UPS idiocy - delivery shenanigans

If I were Prusa I'd ask UPS some very pointed questions right now. Because what they just pulled is intolerable.

I received my tracking number on Tuesday, delivery was scheduled for today. The notification also stated that a signature would be required.

Because I'm usually not at home when UPS comes around, I asked them via their web interface to leave it at an UPS Access Point - the signature requirement made that a must because I thusly couldn't say to leave it at a neighbour's.

Today I received an email that my package was delivered to the Access Point. After work I drove there and got my package.

It was suspiciously light - about 3 kg. But I drove home first, where I found another notification from UPS in my mail box.

They had left my package at my neighbour's?!?

Knocked at my neighbour's door and there I found indeed another package. This time with a fitting weight.

Took both into my appartment and opened the first one which turned out to be full of clothes. From Poland. For my neighbour upstairs.

I looked into it a bit more and both packages have the same tracking number. It also turns out that UPS does not have any information about the "wrong" package in their system anywhere - just mine.

So I guess I'm lucky that I'm the one to receive both packages (and my neighbour is lucky I'm an honest guy).

But just imagine someone being the receiver who's not so honest...

To summarize: I received the wrong package. And the correct package was left at someone's elses place without my consent.

On multiple occasions I’ve had UPS deliveries delayed by “extreme weather conditions” when there was not extreme weather. On one occasion there was actual snow, but not much.

When someone asks you if you're a god, you say, "YES!"

I do a lot of shipping out and receiving here at my place. I have a shop in the garage. I hate UPS. I've had nothing but problems with them on countless shipment. I refuse to use them unless it is the only option.

FWIW, I've successfully redirected packages using their app after setting up a free UPS MyChoice account.

Wow, your UPS region must be HORRIBLE. I've never had any issues with dozens and dozens of UPS deliveries. Via UPS MyChoice, I can change the delivery and delivery instructions, and they honor it every time. I guess every part of the country/world is different.

Re: UPS idiocy - delivery shenanigans

I've dealt with a lot of shippers and while UPS did have occasional screw ups, FedEx was the one who actually damaged packages.

It got so bad that we were having to take photographs of shipments before they left the warehouse to prove to FedEx that everything was in good working order before it was picked up by, apparently, their gorillas.

I don't have a good answer here. USPS seems to be slow but good.

fedex wanted me to accept a box of 72 ceramic mugs that they had dropped....

yodel put a parcel in a food waste bin, and left it by the front door, facing into the wind, so the lid blew open, and the parcel got wet

I wish people would use the post office, they seem to respect parcels

Re: UPS idiocy - delivery shenanigans

Earlier this week, USPS left a box on the corner of the porch(a 400$ custom made backpack). And my e-packet from China with 10$ of stepper motors on the porch. The e packet blew off the porch.
Did I mention it rained 3 inches that day?

UPS gave me a 4 hour delivery window this morning for my Mk3. YAY! (9am to 1pm)

I work night shift. To say I'm pissed is an understatement. It was delivered at 6:20. I had to have my wife skip her plans for the day to wait on them.

5 hours and 20 minutes late. On top of a 4 hour window. I waited for that package for nearly 9 hours, because UPS is apparently ignorant regarding their own routes. It makes me question their logistics.

Hi, I'm Sean. I used to work on CNC machines.

Everyone please send an email to PR and complain about UPS. They won't change it unless they know about it (from more customers than just me).
