Re: The disadvantage of Bondtech gears
When the nozzle clogs, you get this nightmare... 🙁
Looks like you have a bigger issue. Prusa sent you an MK3 constructed from Duplo blocks.

Re: The disadvantage of Bondtech gears
I thought it had the IKEA style 😀
I've had a worse hobbed gear diarrhea once with my then stock MK2 gear, while printing Ninjaflex.
It looped around the whole extruder multiple times, while also tangling itself on the edges of the MK2 frame.
The 'oh sh!t' moment was to strong then, else i would have taken a picture.
Re: The disadvantage of Bondtech gears
When printing my upgrade I had to print in the colors of my alma mater..

You'll be going to bed late tonight! Go Blue!
Re: The disadvantage of Bondtech gears
Hi Ray, check out this thread to find the cause and solution to that problem. The extruder motor is heating up and melting the filament before it enters the bowden tube.
In short: it effects PLA because of the low temps, printing in an enclosure makes it worse, adding a radiator to the extruder motor helps, ventilating the gears helps (a lot). You can find a fan duct for the extruder gears attached.
