Surface defects at printed parts

Hi, I'm a beginner at 3D-printing and need some help. I just finished the building of my mk3 and the calibrating just works fine. At my first prints I unfortunally see some defects at the top surface. At the picture you can see the several defects, e.g. at the corner of the letters.

Has someone an advice for me?

Did you use the files on the SD card? They were updated online a while back so if you have not already I would download and install the newest drivers including the new sample files and update the firmware.

I updated the drivers and Firmware. I also usw the newest sample files. The defects are the same. At one part I marked the positions of the defects and they are always the same. I recognized the nozzle leaves some plastic dots at mesh bed leveling. So I reduced the temperature to 200 degress, but it is still the same.

I also have them from the sd card files in exact same spots so it would be interesting to find out what causes them, i tried altering the live Z but made the first layer worse.

Hoping someone from Prusa could possibly shed some light on this phenomena....

Same thing happening here, in almost exactly the same spots.

Have you updated the contents of your SD card?

I had the same looking ugly surface. Reducing the flow multiplier to 0.9 (in tuning menu) can help a bit IF you are using OUTDATED models on the SD card.

You really should make sure that you have the latest gcodes on the SD card, in which case the multiplier should not be touched.

This may be due to over extrusion, possibly due to out of spec filament diameter, try reducing the flow rate to say 95% on the LCD Menu's

when setting your printer up,
The length of filament extruded can be checked for calibration, however the prusa is usually pretty good on this as standard. (Search for e steps per millimeter, of extruder calibration)

When you plan to slice your own prints, it's worthwhile measuring the actual diameter of your filament in a number of points over say 3 metres length to see what the regularity is like, beware that the filament can be oval rather than round, so try measurements at 90degrees, to verify this too...

if your filament is different to 1.75mm then change the filament size to reflect this in the slicer

if your prints still over extrude (or under extrude) you can adjust the extrusion multiplier in the slicer software. it's normally set as '1', in Slic3r PE
an extrusion multiplier of '0.95' will reduce extrusion by 5% and 1.05 will increase extrusion by 5%

Have you updated the firmware to the latest release, and have you downloaded the latest Slic3r from Prusa Downloads? Originally the MK3 had an over extrusion issue that was fixed by adding a 0.95 extrusion multiplier in the starting gcode in the latest Slic3r presets.

Does PrusaControl add the same multiplier? Also wouldn’t it make sense to fix this in firmware, so that it works with all slicers?

Also what is the gcode for this? I can't find anything regarding a 0.95 multiplier in the latest gcode for the default models.
