Re: Spare Spring Steel Sheet Availability?

the only problem with galvanised steel, is if you over bend it, to remove a stubborn print, it will not spring back to shape, the spring steel is more resillient to being accidentally bent.

Re: Spare Spring Steel Sheet Availability?

I asked Prusa support about the availability of spare sheet sheets (07/03/2018) I print ABS so I've ruined both sides of mine plus it's beginning to show signs of warping.
All I got back after an 11 day wait was:- 'You can buy replacement PEI sheets and replace the PEI yourself'. Yeah I know that but I want to buy a new steel sheet!
Currently, I can buy any spare part for the Mk3 EXCEPT the only part that you are likely to ruin (the spring steel sheet)!

Come on PRUSA: - It's nearly April 2018 and we still can't buy replacement steel sheets yet! - Why can't we buy the smooth PEI sheet version (at the very least)?

Has anyone found an alternative source for the spring steel sheets yet? 🙁

Re: Spare Spring Steel Sheet Availability?

The buildtak flex sheet is available and it appears to be a drop in for the prusa. Its top notch even aligns with the Mk3 pins.

Re: Spare Spring Steel Sheet Availability?

I also use a galvanised steel sheeet with 1mm thickness. i went for a thicker sheet beacuse i had issues with large prints pulling the sheet up. see here: https://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/-f0/spring-sheet-lifting-during-print--t6971.html

I use the filaprint surface on mine, which releases PETG just like PLA.

Over bending is not an issue for me

Im having access to rent a Co2 laser...

Ive been having the idea to cut some Steel or Iron plates....?!

Could that be of any interest?
Without any coating is that a good idea ?

Maybe someone else wants one...?

Re: Spare Spring Steel Sheet Availability?

Still no word on avalibility?

Are Prusa shipping the powder coated variants yet?

I feel like that should still be a included part of the original sale, as it was a headline feature.

It says "late spring". Spring ends on June 21st - right? So I would not count on them before June 15th

Re: Spare Spring Steel Sheet Availability?

They will keep dragging up till year 2100 or may be even after. Before buying my MK3 I contacted the support team about the need of extra sheet with my printer, they said do not worry you can add it to your order when it be available end of February, now saying end of April, May. If there is a good alternative to MK3, I would ditch the MK3 & buy another printer with more reliable support. (Sorry, I am so angry).

There isn't much for an alternative. Prusa wants to ship the powder coated sheets as much as we want them. I'm not sure what you want for reliable support either, the production problems haven't been solved, support can't do much about that.

Re: Spare Spring Steel Sheet Availability?

Still no solid updates to availability? We get them when we get them.

What about people who need a new PEI sheet SSS?

Are they able to sell these to MK3 customers at this time?
