So Close, But Nice First Try

I finally got my first print completed after all the calibration and testing, so it looks like I'm up and running. I still have a minor issue to deal with.

In getting here I had to make some changes to correct for the Z axis. I ended up with a negative 0.980 on the benchy and changed it to 0.985 "final" on the Adalinda. Do I need to modify the Z more or something else?
Reading one thing in the manual it says not to go more than 1mm in the Z axis for calibration. Does that mean I still have another 1.015mm of play in the calibration or am I near the maximum and need to move the PINDA probe.
I think I know the answer, but I tend to over analyse.

Are you using the most recent versions of the sample files? the benchy looks like the old cooling issues from the original sample gcode on the sd card. If you haven't try downloading the sample gcode files from the web site. They were included in one of the recent driver updates and should be located in a 3d objects folder.

Hello,

Did you try to print your benchy with another type of pla or another brand ?

With the prusa PLA i've no problem with cooldown at 0.2mm but with lower resolution like 0.15mm the overhangs looks always rought (like your benchy).

I've the same problem with the expensive but not great ColorFabb PLA/PHA.

But with other cheap PLA available in France (cause i'm French you know)
i've no problem at all with the same Gcode....

I also download the newest frimware and the newest Gcode Sample for the benchy but witout significant results ...
I can post a few pictures if you want .

I tried PLA from Grossite3D.com

I earn nothing to say you that but their PLA are the best i've ever tried (and i tried a lot > 10 differents brands) .
For the price (17€/Kg) its just great deal and print quality is good.

If your not sure you can buy sample of PLA (10 meters able to print 2 benchy) to try it for 1,50€ free shipping. Or a 500gramme Spool for 10€.

Hope it can help you.

Et bonjour aux prusa makers en France !
