Slicer settings for MK3 PRINTABLE PARTS

While I'm waiting for my MK3 to arrive, I wanted to go ahead and print parts in a new color scheme on my MK2. I have all the latest MK3 STLs, but I cant find recommended infill and shell settings (wall & top/bottom thickness). Does Prusa publish this info somewhere -- strangely it's not in the included readme.md?

Hi Ryan,

I understand that Prusa use Simplify 3d for slicing the printable parts,
there was a thread on here a couple of days ago, asking how Slic3r could be made to print the parts, particularly the X axis carriage, because Slic3r and Prusa Control ignore the micro-slots, that prusa use to 'beef up' critical areas of the parts.

https://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/original-prusa-i3-mk3-f30/help-reinforced-contours-in-prusacontrol-i-can-not-t13998.html

In lieu of purchasing SD, you could make the number of perimeters higher than average and increase the fill percentage, higher than normal, this would make the new part heavier than the original but would strengthen the model everywhere..

for your own consumption this may be acceptable, in a commercial setting this could lead to unacceptable increased build cost...

I try to make safe suggestions,You should understand the context and ensure you are happy that they are safe before attempting to apply my suggestions, what you do, is YOUR responsibility. Location Halifax UK

PETG, make them as strong as you want. An extra shell and a few more infill % isn't going to break the bank. Looks like they're probably using much higher layers and less cooling for exactly that purpose.

Huh,

I followed that other thread and did not think of it until just now... Why wouldn't Prusa provide gcodes of the parts if they slice them with S3D? I have S3D, so not a huge deal for me. But it may be for others.

They provide the g-code files for the MK2s now, but nothing for any other printers. I have S3D and am currently slicing the STLs there, but I would still like to know the recommended infill etc. S3D is great and all, some pretty great advanced options, but I really prefer staying in Cura if I can. So the settings would be helpful to use while setting a Cura profile up as well.

The Simplify 3D license does not allow you to distribute gcode for sliced models.
