Shut down procedure?
OK, so my new mk3 is all assembled, calibrated, and I ran a couple test prints that look pretty darn good. I haven't found anything in the manual on what I should do before powering it off. I did unload the PLA and put it back in a bag. Anything else I need to do?

all I do, is wait for the extruder to cool below 50 degrees centigrade, then switch off...

You don't need to unload the filament (unless you are not going to use the printer for a couple of weeks). All you need to do is to make sure the hotend has cooled below 50 degrees and the left fan has switched off, then turn off the power. If you don't wait for the hotend to cool you will get heat creeping up into the heatbreak and heatsink which is a bad thing.

Just nothing i think 😀 The only thing i do is wait for fan to turn off after a print before turn printer off
If you think you will not use your printer for weeks or months, yes unload and save the fillament.
I have one spool always exposed, no problem. Also some spools with more than a year after been used and the are ok.

Oh, I thought the PLA was hygroscopic so I pulled it. The printer probably won't be sitting much, but the wife said I needed to get it off the kitchen table before dinner! lol

I selected the cool down option and waited for it to finish. I did not know about the heat creeping into the heatbreak, that's good info. Thanks!
Do you folks cover the printer with anything once it's cooled to keep the dust off?
